Last year’s resolution: JUICE MORE!

Ahhh resolutions! Did you come up with some good ones? I’m still trying to think about what I want to accomplish in 2011. I already have my 31 comes before 32 list to keep me busy, so I’ll have to get back to you on that!

In 2010, I made these two:

1.  Juice more.

2. Go on more hikes with my family.

I took about 3 hikes in 2010. It was more than I had anticipated, but not as much as I’d hoped for.  Hopefully I will hike more in 2011 because I love being outdoors.  Either way, I know being more active is making its way onto my 2011 list.

Juice more! I’m happy to report that I did JUICE MORE in 2010. I came up with a few concoctions besides my favorite go-to juice, Carrot Apple Ginger.  In the process, I enjoyed playing with fonts throughout the year on my juice posts. It kept my brain active & helped me channel my love for typography.

Let’s take a look!

Spinach Celery Cucumber

Pineapple Carrot Mango Ginger

Cucumber Watermelon Lime

I am curious… did Cooper drink any of them? Alden loves smoothies… so I wonder if I could slip some veggies into his drinks.

He likes anything that’s orangey or on the sweeter side. He really loved the kale smoothie I made the other day. If I put a juice in a sippy cup thats dark and he doesn’t see the color of the juice, he is more likely to drink it. But you know how it is- one minute they like something and then the next they don’t!! I’d give it a shot. You never know!

    Yay !
Finally instead of drooling over your peanut butter bacon cookies recipe *sadly doesn’t fit into my diet* I’ll be able to try some of the yummy recipes you post here !

Happy Juicing!! I got a juicer for myself with my Christmas money and I LOVE it – have been juicing every day and trying to get as much green stuff as possible into the juices. I juiced broccoli stems the other day and felt very healthy and thrifty!! 🙂

Oh and I see you dabble in raw foods too…I tried a new raw foods recipe yesterday and it was a total fail. I usually love raw recipes but this one…not so much. anyways, love your blog 🙂

Congratulations!! That’s fantastic news. Broccoli intrigues me…never juiced it before.

      What was your recipe fail?

TIP ‘o the day: Knock out one of your 31 comes before 32 list items AND get in more hiking at the same time by going to Rancho San Antonio. You can visit the farm and then go on a hike!

  • Lisa

I love all your yummy looking juices, I have a question for you though. Its hard for me to find time in the morning to juice, is there any juice recipes that I can make the night before and store in the fridge, that won’t spoil, so I can quickly grab n’ go ??

    Thx
    ~L

Lisa- I read that the nutritional value of juices gets compromised the longer you wait to drink them. Perhaps you could get a bowl ready in the morning for your parts to soak in after you juice and come back to cleaning it up later? You can also save time by cleaning & chopping your fruits & vegetables the night before and set out everything in advance so you can hop right to it in the morning. I hope that helps a little. I’ve never saved juice for that long.

i love this post. i’m going to need a juicer as soon as i get sick of kale smoothies.

You are seriously making me want a juicer. When I went to New Orleans earlier this Fall, I had the most amazing beet/strawberry juice and I have been dying to recreate it ever since. Inspired!

  • Jessica

You are a juicing machine! I love how colorful they all are and that most of them are in mason jars. 🙂
