What’s in my new freezer?

my freezer is nice

I was a bit worried about the configuration of our new Electrolux fridge because I’ve always had the impression that pull-out freezers have less storage. The install was a tad stressful because I had a TON of frozen items WAITING for a home and what if they all didn’t fit?l!! When I finally put everything away in the new freezer I was SHOCKED because not only did all of the items fit, I had EXTRA ROOM. This is big news, people! It means I can be an even BIGGER freezer hoarder!!! Costco, HERE I COME!

Before I get to the glamor shots of our new freezer, let me show you what the OLD freezer situation was like.

I had our old freezer STUFFED to the gills with food and if something covered the light bulb, I couldn’t really see what I had in the freezer. I also couldn’t line things up in a row because the shelves were too narrow and the drawers were really shallow. This bugged me because I could never figure out a good organizing system!

AHHHHHHH

It was like playing a stressful game of Jenga! Pull something out…watch it all fall down… on my feet.

old fridge

And here we have the new pullout freezer situation! THREE LAYERS OF ORGANIZATION!

3 layers!

Top layer houses frozen Fruits & Vegetables.

level 1

Middle layer houses Carbs & Meats.

level 2

Bottom layer houses frozen meals and things that are generally too big…like frozen pizza….and a stack of Lean Cuisines & Smart Ones. Don’t judge. Wait, maybe do. The Spanish rice ones are my favorite.

i like lean cuisines

I also like this one little shelf on the side that fits puff pastry… and CHARLESTON CHEWS!

haha!!

That might be the best part…I’m pretty happy about all of the layers because I know exactly where to look when I need something.

I can’t wait to show you the cute ice cubes it makes and all the shelves on the inside of the fridge. Stay tuned!

    Hi

I just bought a electrolux french door refrig. but I am a bit nervous like you were switching from a side by side to the french door set up. I thought I wanted a Viking slide in French Door and we wound up changing our minds. Now, I’m not sure if I made the right decision. How do you like it? Also the trays have a lip on them in the refrigerator section, does this take up space? BTW…your posts are funny. I like it. Thanks for your thoughts. Kat

Surpsingly, you’ve convinced me that the bottom drawer freezer is pretty cool and I could see myself getting one whenever my current fridge’s time is up. But more surprising–I now found out who eats Charleston Chews. These were the dreaded candies (along with Mary Janes and Bit o’Honeys) that were always at the bottom of the pillowcase at Halloween! Lol! =)

Ha! I think you HAD the same refrigerator I’m finally going to replace! and I had to laugh because I’m always dropping frozen food items on my poor feet! I’m so excited thanks for this post
I’m convinced that the pull out freezer will be roomy enough for me and my huge family.
