Outfitting: Statement Necklaces

Every since I cut my hair short, I’ve been obsessed with statement necklaces. When my hair was a bit longer I rocked more bold/big earrings. If you’re waring a simple outfit, big bold necklaces are a great way to make a statement. Here you can see the colorful ones that I’m keen on right now. If you have a black & white striped shirt or even a white tee they would be a fantastic accessory. Pair it with a blazer and you are GOOD TO GO.

These six necklaces are ones I’d wear with a black dress. I’m quite fond of #9 and I think I’m going to purchase it the second I hit PUBLISH on this post.

I actually have NOT been a fan of bauble statement necklaces since they’ve become popular, but…I admit to really liking #4 and #11! I always find myself drawn to wooden necklaces. Maybe it’s time I get one. Oh, and #9, too, but that’s not as bauble-y.

No surprise, the color bunch has me swooning!
Funny part: in my feedly, Ruby Ellen’s blog Cakies was the post right above yours and in that post, she’s wearing an adorable striped tshirt dress with ankle booties and a statement necklace and I totally thought, note to self, statement necklace looks really cute over stripes” and then BOOM. I need to bring back the statement necklace in my wardrobe. I was wearing them all throughout the spring and summer and then started accessorizing with lighter pieces. These would add a nice pop of color to my often drab winter wardrobe!

I love the trend of statement necklaces, but I feel like I’m drowning in a big necklace and my daughter thinks that any necklace within 50 feet of her is free for the taking. (Guessing Cooper doesn’t do that to you? Haha.) Number 9 doesn’t look too heavy though and I love the color of number 6. 🙂

Beautiful necklaces! I need to add more professional looking clothes to my wardrobe, so I’m wondering if you could recommend a couple places to shop for blazers…although I’m hoping to find a couple not much more than $50. I love your navy one in the photo! Thank you!

  Thanks! I got this blazer at Banana Republic—it was a 40% off deal and I think I had a promo code. But! You can definitely find them at Gap, sometimes Old Navy and I’ve had luck with H & M. I think Kohl’s might have some too. Good luck!

I have necklace #4 and I wore it last week with a striped shirt and blazer (of course!). My boyfriend commented that I “looked like Shutterbean.” At least I know I have good taste!
