I’m dying to go to Kyoto. I’m actually just dying to go to Japan. I went there for a disastrous week when I was 21 (it’s a long story that i’ll tell you in person one day – #17 – friend!).
Article number three made me tear up a bit. I still remember the first time I tried to explain this to my husband years and years ago. He was shocked. I was shocked that men can unaware of the shit we deal with on a daily basis. The almost unconscious descions we make multiple times a day just to feel safer. It’s infuriating and something I hope will change before my daughter is a grown woman.

Thank you for compiling. I look forward to your lists every Friday.

You would absolutely adore Kyoto. It is a very charming city. Japan, to me, is a total wonderland. What struck me was how in these MEGA cities you can find such serene, peaceful spots in city parks, gardens, and temples/shrines. Such warm and friendly people who are always willing to help and are so respectful. The shopping is insane and I loved the care they took in wrapping your purchases using washi tape. And the Japanese treats and snacks … oh my goodness!!! Japan is a feast for all of your senses.

Kyoto is incredible, I wish that I would have spent a little more time there. My boyfriend and I just went to Tokyo and Kyoto in September. I want to go back already, Japan is such a beautiful country.

In reference to Mike Rowe’s response–could we please create an outfit 8 ball? You could customize the “die” to your wardrobe and then just shake it every morning and let the fates decide. You would obviously have to have seasonal ones, but what a great bonus of the capsule wardrobe!! We could make millions. MILLIONS.
