Here’s what My Everyday Life- Week 34 looked like:
HELLO NEW YORK!
Traveling alone….but also with my parents for my grandma’s funeral service.
Clean your windshield.
His pants caught my eye.
I love people watching while I’m sitting in a cab.
I’m always so amazed by how many people live stacked on top of each other in NYC.
Also there’s so much stone/brick.
And so many air conditioners!
The one with the light on.
The best thing I ate was at Momason. This coconut curry ramen was bonkers.
Night time walking with my brother + sister- in – law
The plants on the sidewalks of New York are full of dust & dirt from the roads.
Still pretty though.
Waiting for my brother to finish his conference call at work….doodling in my journal.
My brother is also a fan of moleskines. That made me happy to see.
Lunch at Urban Space was great! I got a chicken shawarma bowl at the Hummus place.
Trip to Grand Central….ummm… yeah…that happened while we were there.
The lights in Grand Central are gorgeous.
Taking a break from the wake.
Cousin feet.
H U M I D
Hers and Hers
The morning of my grandma’s funeral I saw some really cool reflections in the windows at the church.
There was a point at my grandma’s service at the cemetery where the sun got brighter and hotter and then it faded. It was powerful. I felt her. She was the sun for a moment and she reminded me what LIGHT feels like.
My flower on her grave.
She would have loved seeing all of the beautiful flowers.
Italians grieve through eating.
Aperol spritzes for cousins.
Saying goodbye.
Back on a train.
Hey brother.
Such an interesting shape.
Introvert moment. I needed so many of them. So much talking.
Immaturity moment.
New York is so layered and textured.
Amazing pizza at Marta. I also had a drink called the Seersucker Vest. I wonder how that name came to be.
Peace out NYC. Hope to visit you again soon– on better terms. So happy to have had some quality time with family, though.
This was my reunion with my cats this week. I only got to see them for a brief time when we came back from Tahoe on Tuesday cuz I had to leave for NYC early Wednesday AM.
Only thing I ate at home this week.
Last day on our Tahoe trip included our annual Circus Circus/Reno trip.
Oh yeah and BOWLING. That’s our tradition.
We added a doughnut stop at Dunkin’ Donuts. That should be a new tradition.
The dude abides.
Casey’s last sleeping in moment in Tahoe.
Cheers to our last night in Tahoe.
We had a pretty sunset to boot.
One last dip in the hot tub.
Hanging out with the things he won at Circus Circus.
My niece and my dad have the best smiles.
Cleaning out the fridge nachos!
Monday the 22nd would have been my grandma’s 94th birthday.
Let’s dip into the past:
