Intentions for the Week

Looking to get your head in the game? Tracy from Shutterbean makes a weekly TO DO LIST called her Intentions for the Week. Here's what this week looks like:

Happy Monday, friends! It’s been hot here in the Bay Area (102F!) and I don’t want to do A THING. I just want to sit on my couch and eat an ice cold cantaloupe with a fan pointed at my face. I have to remind myself of some snack dinners that might get us through this heat wave.  Gotta push on through the week!!  I didn’t post an Intentions for the Week last week (I opted for my Summer Bucket List) and it threw me off. That’s a good sign that showing up and writing down what I want to accomplish HELPS. Right?  Time to clear my head and get it all out there:

INTENTIONS FOR THE WEEK:

  • clean out fridge/do a deep clean
  • make a master cleaning schedule for my house
  • research dentist/make doctor appt for physical  (uggh)
  • meal prep
  • figure out which prints to sell next
  • clean up my workspace/put books away
  • make a batch of kombucha
  • LAUNDRY
  • move files over to hard drive
  • make it so I have two eyebrows and not one
  • get Cooper a haircut (totally behind on this)
  • yoga x 2  and maybe a hike if I can
  • make a list of camping supplies/packing list
  • catch up on social media
  • do some solid stretches (my body is feeling STIFF)
  • prep guest room for company
  • catch up on writing letters/mail letters + thank you notes
  • make a pasta salad recipe for the blog
  • shoot apron photos
  • shoot ice cream floats
  • trip to the dump?
  • EAT OUTSIDE as much as possible
  • leisure reading if I can (currently enjoying Theft by Finding by David Sedaris)

What about you?

What are you up to this week?

Let’s see what you’ve got planned!

  • Scarlett

My fiance and I are getting married this weekend, on Sunday! So this week is full of last-minute prep and scrambling around trying to get things finished and ready. I’m working this week and I can’t help thinking how much I could be getting done if I were home instead of here at work!

  • Abby

    Great list, Tracy! Mine is:

    – Yoga x3
    – Finalize vacation plans (we’re going to the lake!)
    – Clean out at least one bag/box from the basement
    – Find a cat sitter/plant waterer
    – Bake a pie
    – Get tea for my desk at work
    – Make a real, sit down dinner every night

  • Jessica

“make it so I have two eyebrows and not one”
Hahahahaha, way to keep it real, girl! And thanks for reminding me that I should probably do that soon too…

  • Jen

-Yes to master cleaning schedule and correspondence time! Do you have any routines/rituals for when you sit down to write letters?
-My oldest graduates from HS tomorrow and then a week later turns 18. Goal for the week is to enjoy this special time with her and not get caught up in memories of when she was little.
-Write all the thank you notes to family and friends that came to her graduation party yesterday and wrote her such thoughtful advice.
-Work on my part of planning the family reunion at the end of July.
-Make my summer wishlist of things I want to learn to cook (empanadas?! fried chicken and waffles? Kombucha still seems intimidating to me!

  • Megan

Thank you for the sweet postcard back. My husband got the mail and texted me “that podcast lady you love wrote you a nice postcard, and wants a grocery list back” lol. I’m pretty sure he thinks I’m into some weird pen pal stuff, god bless him for understanding. You have a friend in Louisville if you come out east. Still miss you and Joy doing your podcast! Take care.

    And to follow suit here..
    Intentions are
Go visit shelter yet again for companion dog to our sweet Roxy (our cats aren’t game to play rough..)
Find something to wear to husbands concert at Churchill Downs night racing band gig
    Always the laundry..
Finish the last few o.i.t.n.b episodes of this season
Color your hair roots, because lord knows you are not a natural blonde..
Catch-up on summer reading (bonk, spook…all Mary Roach, all day)
Use my half day PTO on Friday to actually touch our overcrowded apt pool water

  • Christine

I tried to get my book club to add the Sedaris book to our list for next school year, but no dice. Is it better than Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls?

  • Nicole

Yay! I got your awesome letter and even saw a sneak peak of it on your blog!! SO COOL! 🙂 So, among my intentions are writing you back!! I am also putting my house back together after we had a KITCHEN FLOOD Easter weekend. It’s been a long couple of months living with a plywood floor ha! But now we have a new tile floor and I have my kitchen fridge back after twelve days of working out of the garage fridge lol!
