Regarding #16 – Just a tip – Ruth reads the audio version of the book. I really enjoyed listening to her, it was like she was in the passenger seat of my car talking to me.

    • Tracy

Great idea! I saw her read from her book in person once and LOVED IT. Thanks for reminding me

  • Kate

OMG!! Return of Oz!! Thinking about that movie gives me the heebs to this day!!

  • Meghan

I once found a hilarious racy teenage love note from the ’80s written in a second hand book along with a photo of the couple. My friend (who lent me the book) and I did some internet sleuthing and found out the couple GOT MARRIED! HAVE KIDS! Good on ’em 🙂

I love your posts, Tracy. Your Currently inspired me to try a similar journal/summary myself and I am looking forward to seeing Currently notebooks in your shop. Thank you for being a bright spot in the day!

Wow. I have not, and will not see Return to Oz. FYI, the book is great. It appears that the movie combines several Oz books and adds plenty of material that isn’t in any of them…like Dorothy being in an asylum. The Wheelers are in a book, and are scary, but not THAT bad. And the heads belong to Princess Langwidere, not Mombi. It’s kind of gruesome if you stop to think about it, but isn’t written in a scary way.

October is a great time to visit Joshua Tree. Many of the artists that live in the area have an open studio tour.https://issuu.com/hwy62arttours/docs/hwy62-2019_catalog

Also regarding #16, please try to buy books from your local independent bookstore instead of Amazon and your audio books from Libro.fm (since you can support a local independent bookstore through them). I love your lists—thank you.
