Intentions for the Week

Looking to get your head in the game? Tracy from Shutterbean makes a weekly TO DO LIST called her Intentions for the Week. Here's what this week looks like:

HAPPY MONDAY!!  This is my first Intentions for the Week list of 2019.

I’m wondering if I should keep up this practice in 2019. Is it helpful for you? I know it helps me, but I’m wondering if I should just stick to writing in my bullet journal every week?

This is my current week before I filled it in!

We watched the first episode of Marie Kondo’s new Netflix show and I got the bug to organize over the weekend.

I cleaned out my pantry:

I cleaned up and organized my spice cabinet:

I organized my clothes:

I HAVE SO MUCH MORE TO CLEAN.

Which reminds me, I should create a list of things I want to accomplish around the house this year.

I also did a meal prep to clean out our fridge!

MEAL PREP THIS WEEK INCLUDES

It feels good to have all of that accomplished at the beginning of the week. I am ON A ROLL!

Intentions for the Week:

  • finish laundry
  • find a home for our lego table
  • take down Christmas tree/holiday decor
  • get some exercise
  • share my 2018 sketchbook
  • grocery shop
  • drop off donations

  • make doctor + dentist appointments
  • write down my Intentions for the Year/share

Hi Tracy I first saw your blog in Better Homes and Gardens and I have been hooked ever since! I make your recipes (my family loves the Hippie Banana Bread), find inspiration in your photos, and have actually become more productive due to your weekly intentions. Please keep them going, they remind me to write down my intentions.

Girl, you know I’m nosy and *love* your intention lists. 🙂

Also: I happened upon the Marie Kondo show Friday night and watched the first 3 episodes while handling the dresser. (I know I was supposed to also empty the closet, but it was after 9 and I’m the boss of me anyway.)

And: Cherry Bomb made me laugh. It’s all fun and games until you hear your 7-yr-old is singing along with it. The best part was when she used to say, “Hello, Daddy – Hello, Mom!” but when she did it, it was like she was thrilled to see us. #upwithpeople

I also find your Intentions for the Week posts interesting and motivating, and inevitably wonder how in the heck you get all that done?! It’s good to hear that others find setting weekly goals a worthwhile exercise. I developed a weekly To-Do List for myself and found it a helpful way to have my week’s goals at a glance on one sheet. I then had tear-off 8×10 pads of them printed, and mounted them on clipboards to sell in my vintage booth a local flea market. Not one has sold! I guess people in my town aren’t interested in getting organized 😉 Anyway, keep your inspirational content coming- I love it!

    Dear Tracy,
happy – belated – new year and all the best to you and your loved ones!

I just love reading your weekly intentions and writing down my own alongside! It encourages me and makes me feel connected to people – hello everyone in comments 🙂 – in the same effort: having a productive and focused week, actually getting things done, and getting better at knowing what we can (and can’t) acomplish in one week.

So thank you so much for this!

I love the idea of Monday intentions!

  • lee

Yes, I love your weekly Intentions posts! As I make an effort this year to be more thoughtful about how I build my to-do lists from week to week, yours have actually been helpful in thinking through the details.

Hope your week is a wonderful one!

  • Jen

I just started following you and I love it all! Don’t stop! I just bought a journal, inspired by you!
