Currently November 2021
Whenever I see ginkgo leaves, I think of my Auntie Marilyn who used to host Thanksgiving every year. She had some ginkgo jewelry I loved looking at when I was little. She died of cancer before I graduated from high school. My Mom hosted every Thanksgiving after that. My Mom was never the same after her sister died and we always felt that sting during the holidays. I became my Mom’s helper in the kitchen. She would give me chores and tasks and I’d be the one to set the table and make things look pretty. It was just us the two in the kitchen and then it wasn’t.
I am not sure when I took over the job to do Thanksgiving for the family. I think it was a few years before she died. She would bring her amazing stuffing and a pumpkin pie over to my house. Every year, we noticed our table getting smaller as family members passed and other family members moved away. I totally understand her pain of watching the number of guests lessen each year. I drew ginkgo leaves in my Currently Workbook to remember my Mom and Aunt who made our holidays magical.
YELLOW!
I used my favorite colored pencils for this spread.
Let’s get into it!
I am grateful I was able to start November with a benign breast biopsy. Thank goodness.
All the good things that happened!
Break it down!
Here we go:
Inspired By:
LIGHT!!! Check out that sunset from Bodega Bay! I don’t get to see a beautiful sunset like this often. When I do, it’s a real treat. It was after a relaxing art/lady day with my friends Tammi, Corrine, Jessica & Jen.
This month I started a newsletter (sign up here!) after years of putting it off.
I started selling my Intentions for the Week Calendar this month!
As well as my Currently 2022 Workbook!
I get a real kick out of seeing things from my Etsy shop in your home!
I also get so inspired packing up your orders. Sometimes people leave me such sweet notes in their orders and that MAKES MY DAY. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
Watching:
We finished MAID. It was such a good show. It made me daydream of the Pacific Northwest. It stressed me out at times but it was so well done.
We got entirely caught up on Yellowstone. What an amazing show! I wish I started it sooner.
Sex, Love & Goop was entertaining and informative.
I stayed up too late watching the House of Horrors episode on 20/20 (WHOA)
We watched The Breakfast Club with Cooper and he loved it.
Reading:
Started Radical Acceptance in book club. I’ve been also reading this book. It’s been helping me in my grief process.
And as always, I’ve been reading Thriving as an Empath daily. It really helped me, especially during Thanksgiving week.
Thinking About:
How I have a 13-year-old. What high school is going to be like for him.
My Mom. My family. What my Mom would think of my family.
The holidays. Getting older. How much therapy has helped this past year and how I miss it.
Listening To:
Neko Case started following me on Instagram this month and 2008 Tracy was AMAZED by that.
I LOVE HER MUSIC and I put her back in the rotation.
This song got me through the month:

Dream Life:
I really need to put a journal next to my bed because I wake up and remember my dreams and then they disappear.
I had a dream I couldn’t find my purse. Look that up. See what that means.
One of the only dreams I remember is that I was chosen to go to space and when I saw that we would be sleeping in hammocks I peaced out. I didn’t want to be in space for over a year sleeping in a hammock. I guess that means I value my sleep more than going into space.
Eating/Drinking:
Cranberry Cheese Danish made twice!
My child made his own cinnamon rolls. Praise be!
We went for a driving adventure and we had these crispy polenta fries I can’t stop thinking about.
I now see that my child left Carmex on the table at the restaurant.
I reshared my favorite soup- Sausage White Bean Soup!
I did one meal prep day this month. My Sundays have been kinda messed up since basketball entered the picture. Hoping I can do more soon.
I liked prepping for buddha bowls during the week.
We had tacos in our old neighborhood and I MISS OUR OLD NEIGHBORHOOD SO MUCH.
I shared my Homemade Cranberry Sauce.
I made really good burgers.
We went to my Dad’s for dinner. His fiance made lamb & truffle fettucine.
I made an apple crisp.
I’ve been enjoying this Hot Apple Cider Tea–. It’s in my favorite things list for 2021.
Proof that I cleaned out my fridge this month!
