Sometimes when I’m in a wave of grief, I start searching for things on my website or photos on my phone because I like to see where technology leads me. It’s one of my favorite ways to invite magic into my life and BOY have I left a trail of it!
Yesterday I wanted to see what would come up when I searched for “SHUTTERBEAN MOTHER’S DAY” and because I’m definitely missing my mom and my Dad is getting married next week so my feelings are all complicated and confusing. Grief wave! The oldest post I found was on my first Mother’s Day in 2009.
2009 Tracy had a garden helper! This was her first Mother’s Day!
2010 Tracy had a toddler with squishy fingers.
2012 Tracy shared profiteroles with her Mom at brunch!
2013 Tracy went to Wafare Tavern and her brother flew in from NY to surprise Mom.
2014 Tracy made her mom a flower arrangement & had her over for dinner!
Current Tracy found this photo in the process and happy sighed.
I got to find some magic in the past. Present Tracy is quite happy about that.
My message to you this week is to take good care of your heart if you’re Mom is not around anymore. If she is, enjoy your time with her and get some pictures so you can be like me and look back at them one day.
If you’re a Mom, I hope you get a moment to yourself to soak it in and that you are WORSHIPPED. Moms do a lot! I’m grateful that my Mom was a really good one. 🙂
If you want to take a moment to remember your mom this weekend on Instagram, feel free to add a little something to the #keepgriefweird hashtag. You are not alone.
Also! BRUNCH! Moms like brunch.
Here are some ideas for you if you wanna brunch this weekend too.
Oh and ONE LAST THING! I made this last year and still have some in the shop. They’re all things my Mom used to say and they help me think good thoughts.
