Intentions for the Week
My Everyday Life Week 27
Here’s what this past week looked like- My Everyday Life Week 27
We celebrated the 4th of July at home with mint juleps!
Paired with a bucket of fried chicken! After hearing how so many people were stuck in traffic after seeing fireworks, I’m glad we laid low this year! We’ve been around so many people in the past few weeks that it was nice to spend the day at home together with no baseball!
We cleaned out our garage too!
The color I like my coffee:

June means no school!!!!! SUMMER BREAK, BABY! Cooper’s been at home with us for the past few weeks and we’ve been busy! We spent a lot of the month doing baseball things. Cooper’s on two teams. A travel team and the All-Star team. This month I volunteered time with Casey to clean out our little league’s snack shack, stock it and run it.
It has been fun making magic in our community. People are so glad to have the snack shack back at baseball games. Life feels like it’s starting to get back to normal…

My Everyday Life Week 26

Here’s what we are growing!
New in the shop!
CLEAN AS YOU GO! I keep my print in the kitchen because I make the biggest mess there.
I shared my Mom’s Mushroom Rice Pilaf this week.
ALL-STAR GAMES ALL WEEK!
Mushroom Rice Pilaf
If my Mom was hosting a party where anyone vegan (my brother) or vegetarian (my niece) was in attendance, her Mushroom Rice Pilaf would be on the menu with some type of faux meat to grill. For us meat eaters, she served the rice with a grilled London broil or some type of flank steak situation. There were almost always some sauteed green beans alongside the mix in addition to her green salad to make it a well-rounded meal.
She always made the mushroom part ahead of time and left it covered on the stove while she ran around and did everything else. Making it in my childhood kitchen this week brought me right back to my childhood.
The wild rice makes it nutty! The teriyaki flavors the rice and the mushrooms. It’s hearty enough to have as a main dish if you feel so inclined. Now my niece & brother have this recipe to make my Mom’s magic in the kitchen! YAY.
