I’ve been toying with the idea of having a red Christmas for the past few years. You know… shake things up a bit. Casey hasn’t been into the idea but when we went to Home Depot to pick up some more lights, I spied these adorable ornaments from Martha Stewart and couldn’t resist. I liked her idea of doing red, blue & white so I ran with it knowing that we already had the blue and white covered.
I also found these cute little hooks at Home Depot too! The ornaments stay on so well now.
In preparation for the mantle, I spray-painted a few branches & pine cones from our backyard white.
This is what the mantle looks like (when the tree is off in the background).
Here’s the left hand side.
I made our white blocks into little “presents” and hung ornaments from the branches.
Here are some of the painted pine cones. I love how those mirrored trees pick up lights & colors.
This is the right hand side of the mantle. Reminds me of a Charlie Brown tree. 🙂
A little closeup…
Our stockings match the decor. I’m putting that red blanket my brother gave us to good use on the couch.
The tree during the day…
Here’s a little glimpse of the mantle with the tree on.
Oh! And here’s the front door wreath!
We’re ready for the holidays!
